Halfmoon Sea Kayaks is located in the town of Sechelt on the lower Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.
Sechelt is approximately 50KM northwest of Vancouver and is accessible via a scenic 40 minute ferry or the fly-in, fly-out convenience of seaplanes which dock directly in Sechelt. The town of 10,000 is a social hub for the Sunshine Coast with all of your accommodation, shopping and pre-trip needs.
Our waterfront rental location is at the head of Sechelt Inlet just off the Sunshine Coast highway and directly adjacent to Harbor Air Seaplanes. Launch boats directly from our beach or car-top to other locations throughout the Inland and Salish Seas. 5718 Anchor Road – The main gate to our beach is directly to the left of the government pier as you approach it through the public parking lot.
Parking Please observe the google map above for parking options. There is free parking on a first come first serve basis and additional pay parking. Carpooling is recommended when possible.
High Season 9:00am – 5:00pm, starting May 15th or the May long weekend through until the Labour Day long weekend in September. Reservations are recommended between May and September
Shoulder Seasons 9:00am – 5:00pm in April and October (weather dependent). Check in with our social media platforms or give us a call if you’re coming down on a whim. Online bookings are open.
Off Season 11am – 3pm November – March. In the off season we are standing by to accommodate winter paddlers as best as we can but do not staff our beaches full time. Reservations only
FLY IN/FLY OUT CONVENIENCE! Walk over from West Coast/Harbour Air and paddle away within the hour. If you are able to travel light, this is definitely the way to go. Daily flights from Vancouver Harbour, Nanaimo Harbour and Richmond make access to your paddling adventure quick and easy. Enjoy the 40 minute cruise through Howe Sound. Consider reserving your spot if you’re travelling around summer weekends to avoid long line ups and sailing waits. Our Sechelt Inlet location is an additional 30 minute drive after disembarking in Langdale. BC Ferries Schedule
The preferred bus option as their route is the most direct to Sechelt and will have compartments for luggage/Camping gear. Arrangement can be made to be picked up at the Sechelt bus stop for transport to our Inlet beach location. Tickets can be purchased on the ferry during boarding for the Sunshine Coast portion only. Public buses leave the Langdale Ferry Terminal and transport to the towns of Gibson’s, Sechelt and on to Halfmoon Bay. BC Transit Schedule
