Welcome to Halfmoon Sea Kayaks, thanks for visiting. We’re hoping you find our website helpful in getting some paddling plans together. If it’s missing anything you need please call us any time and let us know. We would love to help. We do three things mainly; Kayak and paddle board rentals, lessons and guided tours. Pick your path below and we’ll see you on the beach.
Equipment Rentals
Our fleet of single and double fiberglass sea kayaks are hand made locally by Seaward, Atlantis and Delta Kayaks. Rentals are available from 4 hours to multiple days. Pack a snack and make a day of it.
OUR GUIDES AND INSTRUCTORS
Meet our passionate guides and instructors for the 2023 paddling season! We come from a wide variety of educational backgrounds and places, but we all share a profound love of paddle sports and outdoor adventure. If you are interested in employment with Halfmoon Sea Kayaks for the 2024 season, or future seasons, follow this link to our current available positions in 2024.
CAM
A Halfmoon Sea Kayaks partner and Paddle Canada instructor, Cam has spent the last 24 years paddling on the Sunshine Coast. He comes from an extensive marine background in the West Coast tug boat industry and has paddled all over coastal British Columbia, including Atlin Lake, Haida Gwaii, Hakai Pass, and the Northern Gulf Islands.
CHARLA
Charla grew up paddling on Georgian Bay in Ontario working as an outdoor education facilitator and Paddle Canada canoe instructor. She holds an Outdoor Adventure Naturalist diploma, a Paddle Canada sea kayak instructor certification, Paddle Canada Level Three Sea Kayak Skills certification, and a Wilderness First Responder certification. Charla enjoys SUP surfing, forest foraging, hula hooping, and teaching Nordic skiing. She has been guiding and teaching on the Sunshine Coast since 2019.
MARIAH
Mariah grew up paddling rivers in southern Ontario and working as an outdoor education facilitator. She holds a community development and environmental studies degree, Paddle Canada Level Two Sea Kayak Skills certification, and an advanced wilderness first aid certification. Mariah enjoys kayak tripping, hiking, slacklining, and climbing. She has been guiding on the Sunshine Coast since 2021.

Cartopping
Are you wanting to explore other paddling routes on the Sunshine Coast?
If so, we can supply you with foam blocks and straps for cartopping with a suitably sized vehicle.
Trailering Service
Our trailering service is available for full day rentals (8:30 am drop off -530 pm pickup) and all multi day trips with a minimum 24 hours notice.
