Call out for Ocean Week Beach Cleanup Volunteers!
Join Halfmoon Sea Kayaks on Thursday, June 5th to celebrate Ocean Week with a special beach cleanup in the Salish Sea.
We’re passionate about protecting the marine environments we explore, and by removing ocean debris, we directly help preserve fragile ecosystems, reduce pollution, and protect marine life.
Every small effort, together, will make a difference.

Yes, as we are on a mission to accomplish a very important task that may save all of humanity and life on earth. We will have no time for training any newbs. But if you really believe you have what it takes then recruit a friend with previous experience and claim a tandem kayak quickly. Better yet, call us and book a first skills course and we’ll get you started on a life exploring the world’s oceans. Teens are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult in a tandem.

Halfmoon Bay – Weather dependent
Specific launch location and destination will be decided the afternoon prior to the event after receiving most current marine forecast available. The general area we are targeting this spring is South Thormanby Island.

Beach time will depend on their conditions. lunch breaks (pack a good lunch with snacks for yourself) will add more time, especially if the weather is nice. Expect to back at our launch site late afternoon.
- Call or email us to let us know you’re interested and we’ll put you on our contact list to reach out the day prior with the launching time and location.
- If you need a kayak, we’ll share a link with you or book it for you over the phone. We’ll then send you a confirmation and access to our waiver links we’ll need filled out and signed.
- Read your confirmation email that will have useful information like what to wear and a link to a map to the launch site.
- Send out vibes for good weather and we’re set to go!
